2015 was the most successful year in ExCeL’s history for conferences and events. We hosted more events than ever before for clients including LinkedIn, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Hewlett Packard Enterprises and the European Society of Cardiology.
The last 12-months saw the result of our sales and marketing strategy coming to fruition by delivering an exceptional year in the history of our conference business.
Not only was this a success for ExCeL but also for London as a city, demonstrating to the corporate and association worlds that we can deliver fantastic event outcomes.
This will pave the way for a new and refreshed view of what London and ExCeL can deliver for international and national event communities and will ensure the continued growth of this business opportunity.
A fantastic endorsement of this was our recent listing as the 5th placed city in the ICCA Rankings and 2nd in terms of delegate numbers. This is in stark contrast to our previous place as 19th six years ago.
The economic impact for the UK with an influx of new events should not be underestimated and we are proud that the events hosted at ExCeL in 2015 contributed £2.9 billion in economic impact and supported 31,000 jobs.
As we look to the future, we are confident that by continuing to invest in our venue and facilities we can retain clients, attract new customers and ensure they have the best event environment to conduct their business.
