For the first time, Clarion Housing Group, the UK’s largest housing association, wanted to bring together every one of its 3800 members of staff for the opportunity to regroup following a merger and the appointment of a new CEO and to communicate the evolving services the company provides across its UK housing and support services portfolio.
There was no precedent for this scale of event so Clarion looked to Monkey’s Cousin and TAG for full creative input.
A vision for the event was presented with:
• a strong visual identity
• an experience using the working headings of ‘festival, fun and information’
• a full programme of:
interactive exhibits (25)
opening and closing plenary sessions
workshop theatres (3)
street food style catering
The logistics were managed by TAG. Monkey’s Cousin and TAG have successfully worked collaboratively since 2014. Given that Clarion delegates would not typically leave their place of work to attend such an event, they required a high level of information combined with careful support to ensure attendance levels were high and delegates were comfortable.
There were challenges to address - meeting Clarion’s SMART objectives, finding the right kind of format, venue and style that would appeal to a wide, diverse audience and to bring together the many different parts of the organisation in harmony, under the event identity - all within a 5-month schedule.
Over 2 days, at ExCel in London, Monkey’s Cousin and TAG produced an enormous sense of show, underpinned by a practical, intelligent approach, that resulted in a show-stopping event enjoyed across the organisation.
At no point did Monkey’s Cousin forget that this event was all about the people in the organisation. Clarion & You put 3800 people front and centre in this very special, successful experience.
