QuickBooks Connect London 2018 / Intuit


QuickBooks Connect (QBC) is a large-scale annual event by Intuit (the company behind the popular QuickBooks brand) that aims to inspire, educate and connect attendees.

Having run successfully in the States for a few years, in 2017 it launched in the UK. However, Intuit wanted the 2018 event to be different. To reinforce QuickBooks’ unique value, it needed to be edgy and innovative, ditching the usual corporate stuffiness, with creative spaces to allow networking and relationships to flourish. In 2018, Intuit turned to Event Concept to expand on this vision and to bring the experience to life.

The overarching business objective is to win hearts and minds of the QuickBooks brand in a competitive market. The event aims to not only help raise awareness of the product but deepen relationships with current and potential customers across its unique ecosystem of attendees.

Putting on an event of this scale was not without serious challenges. The venue was a vast empty space, with no infrastructure. This meant Event Concept had a mammoth task of transforming an empty shell into an immersive experience that inspired the delegates and delivered 28 separate live brand environments for the event sponsors.

Despite these challenges, along with the ‘The Beast from the East’ threatening attendance, the event was a huge success. With its ultra-modern but minimalistic event concept, the experience brought the entire accountancy ecosystem together – a unique achievement in this industry.

Thanks to record interest and attendance, which outstripped the event’s 2017 performance, the 2018 event has exceeded all targets. Added to the 1,600+ registrations, it reached 550k views on Facebook Live and created 455m PR and social media impressions. Plus, with a 99% positive sentiment and record number of new product sign-ups it’s safe to say the event more than hit its ambitious brief.
