Events R Talented

In November 2017, four friends who all work in the Events Industry developed a concept to recognise performance talent from within the events industry and at the same time raise funds for charity.
We decided to call our concept ‘Events R Talented’ and develop everything on a ‘not for profit basis’ with the primary goal of raising a minimum £3000.00 for charity whilst showcasing performance talent within the industry.
Budget
The primary control on budget was determining that the concept was self-funded. We then agreed to set our budget at £1000.00
Challenges
We had challenges to overcome including sourcing a responsible charitable organisation, sourcing venues and achieving targets within budget.
We met all our challenges.
Delivery
We started in May 2019 with a launch party to 75 guests at the Millennium Gloucester hotel, where we introduced the ERT concept and laid out our campaign programme
We developed the concept via a social media, PR and personal network campaign.
We held our main audition at Bunga Bunga in Covent Garden on 20th November 2019 to an invited audience of 170 event professionals.
They watched seven auditionees perform with 3 acts being selected for the semi finals at the EVCOM Awards two weeks later.
On the audition night we raised £5600.00 for a children’s HIV/AIDS charity in rural South Africa.
The eventual performed at an events industry dinner in March 2019 to over 1200 guests. She will also go on a FAM TRIP to the Caribbean.
Results
Our budget of £1000.00 was set to help us facilitate a target of £3000.00. Our budget spend was £805.60 and by the end of 2018 we raised a total of £6000.00.
The Future
Our innovative plans for 2019/2020 will be revealed on 24th July 2019
