Brands at Work / Novartis

 

In 2019, Novartis UK made the bold decision to relocate from an old office in Surrey to a modern, environmentally conscious space in White City. This brought its UK headquarters into the heart of the life sciences community in London – an area dubbed “the UK’s Silicon Valley of Pharma”.

In January 2020, Brands at Work delivered Novartis’ annual event – Pharma Live! – bringing together over 500 UK healthcare professionals, from head office colleagues to field associates.

As well as uniting attendees around Novartis’ strategic aspirations, the 2020 event was driven by three key objectives:
1. Generating excitement about the relocation to London
2. Bringing to life three new cultural behaviours – Inspired, Curious and Unbossed
3. Delivering an event with sustainability at its core – with measurable impact, to provide a benchmark for future events

We created an ongoing ‘live’ document – the Event Sustainability Action Plan – which enabled us to measure our success throughout the process. Our client was delighted with the results, which included:
• Zero waste to landfill
• Zero throw-away items in hotel bedrooms
• Zero single-use water bottles on site
• 100% of paper and cardboard FSC CoC certified
• 77% hired or reusable materials
• 79% of attendees and crew travelled to/from the event by public transport
