QEII Centre

Despite being closed to all but essential meetings and filming since March 2020, the QEII Centre’s team has continued developing innovative solutions to enable it to capture new business and cater for the changing needs of existing clients. Events held in the last year include X3DMedia’s NXT BLD conference. This one-day live event was turned into a virtual six-day event supported by QEII and saw its reach extend from 1,000 to 1,400. The client was thrilled with the outcome and is booked to return for its next live event. Indeed, the team’s approach to client retention has remained a huge strength for the venue, despite events not being able to take place. They have continued to uphold strong relationships with clients which has resulted in the confirmation of 23 events worth £600k and nine further events worth £210k to be confirmed. Enquiry levels have also remained high - which is testament to our high reputation. In the latter part of 2020, many team members were redeployed to work with the Ministry of Housing, Community, Local Government (MHCLG). Although team members were out of the business, much work has been done to keep them updated while continuing to feel connected and engaged in the business. Activity has included regular HR drop-in sessions, coffee mornings, and a Feel Good Friday afternoon, alongside quizzes and internal newsletters.
