RBS Leadership Conference


RBS’s annual Leadership Conference held at ExCel London on 29 & 30.Nov.2017 for circa 700 people.
This event focus is on sharing and building the strategy that will take us towards realising our company ambition of reaching #1 for customer service, trust and advocacy by 2020 and, as such it is an important staging post in the overarching strategic, leadership and engagement work to build a great company with a strong culture, firmly founded on our Purpose, Vision and Values. The agenda provides clarity, drive and focus for the leaders to take back to their teams and embed.
The evening before the conference, the leaders attend the LOV (“Living Our Values”) Awards Dinner - the bank wide recognition programme which shines a light on people who are living our values on a daily basis by improving how we serve our customers.
The Leadership Conference the following day is entirely business orientated and the delegation is composed of senior leaders from throughout the bank.
The theme for 2017’s conference was that we can celebrate putting the past behind us and turn our full attention to making this the best bank for customers. Technological change is bringing a new set of urgent challenges – if we respond well we can meet our ambition, while also solving cost and control.
The tone of the event changes yearly depending on the business and strategy landscape. This year the tone was to be celebratory and congratulatory following the dedication and efforts of colleagues to get us to where we are today 10 years on from the financial crash; grounded and transparent about what and who we now are as a bank; inspirational, future focused and motivational to keep up the pace.
