The Convention Centre Dublin

The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD)

The period June 2017 to June 2018 has been a strong 12 months for The CCD. The venue hosted 174 events, including 75 repeat events. Most recent accounts posted (2016) show an increase in total operating profit of 11% on the previous year (2015). The trend for larger conferences that are also longer in duration continued, with steady performance in 2017 and strong pipeline for 2018.
During the year, the venue secured a number of new and exciting high-profile clients, such as EBAday and HUPO16th Annual World Congress. This is further proof that The CCD is a key player in business tourism and continues to attract international conferences to the city of Dublin. In the first half of 2018, The CCD held 23 international events, with over 11,400 international conference delegates, worth over €18.25m to the local economy.
The exceptional experience and service that clients and delegates receive while doing business with The CCD is further demonstrated by the fact that 43% of client events were counted as repeat business. Such events included Airfinance Conference (five years), Google Engage (two years), Dublin Tech Summit (two years) and Pendulum Summit (five years).
The CCD’s largest event this year was Dublin ComicCon, when 12,600 enthusiasts visited the venue over a three-day period. In October, it welcomed its largest international association conference, Eurospine, over three days, with over 3,800 specialists.
The CCD has a proven track record for excellence and continues to pride itself on the quality of service it provides to customers and on the importance of the team in offering a world class venue. Its high quality, skilled team is instrumental in delivering exceptional customer service and this is evidenced by the excellent customer feedback the business and its operations have consistently received since opening.
