The extraordinary experience that clients and delegates receive while doing business with The CCD is further demonstrated by the fact that 40% of client events were counted as repeat business, with some events being held at the venue for seven years in a row.
During the year, the venue also managed to secure several new and exciting high-profile clients, such as PMI, UEFA and Visa and held some impressive international conferences for the first time, including the International Combustion Symposium and the ECSS Congress. This is proof that The CCD is a key player in business tourism and continues to attract international conferences to Dublin. Since June last year, The CCD held 61 international events with over 35,000 international conference delegates, worth over €56 million to the local Irish economy.
June 2018 to June 2019 has been an excellent 12 months for The CCD showing an increase on last year’s events by over 13%. In that period, the venue hosted 197 events, of which 78 were repeat business. The venue maintained a strong recycling rate of 98% showing a strong focus on sustainability within the business.
The most recent accounts posted for 2017 show an operating profit of €4.9 million, with 2018 set to be the most profitable year since opening in 2010 showing an increase in revenue, visitor numbers and additional employment created.
