Sonia is the Head of Commercial Programming at the Guardian News & Media, where she is responsible for creating the content and overseeing the production of all sponsored and supported by events. Prior to this she was the event production manager for Guardian Labs (the Guardian's in-house advertising content studio). Since joining the Guardian four years ago, Sonia has run events at large scale international conferences such as the World Economic Forum, UN General Assembly, UN Commission on the Status of Women and Aids International Summits, as well as activations at political party conferences here in the UK. Her particular areas of interest include workplace culture and discrimination, global development and women's rights. Prior to joining the Guardian, Sonia was a Senior Conference Producer and Head of the Security Events Portfolio at International Research Networks, where she oversaw the production and management of around twenty infrastructure and industrial security conferences in Europe, LATAM, the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa and South East Asia each year. She holds an MA in International Relations from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland.
