The Convention Centre Dublin
Restrictions on mass gatherings remained in Ireland up to Christmas. 2022 brought brighter days and signs that things were returning to a greater sense of normality. The CCD took every opportunity between restrictions to deliver events - in-person, hybrid or fully digital. The CCD conducted client research on the impacts of COVID on clients’ businesses to inform future plans, while also reviewing their strategic approach resulting in a roadmap to 2026. Across the 12-month period, The CCD has implemented new offerings and developments such as the option for clients to offset the carbon emissions for their event at The CCD, 100% green electricity, review and upgrade of digital signage, and 3D rendering to name a few. The CCD aims to be a leader in sustainable event delivery and has a recycling rate of 97% showing a strong focus on sustainability. The venue also added Gold Healthy Venue Status, ISO20121 and Origin Green to their accreditations The most recent accounts posted for 2020 reported a decrease in revenues to €2.68 million due to COVID-19’s impact on largescale events. The CCD’s focus was on maintaining continuity and ensuring readiness once public health restrictions permitted and activity across the period has shown this to be the case.
