The SEC, Glasgow

The 92nd INTERPOL General Assembly, held at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow from 4–7 November 2024, was the largest global gathering of senior law enforcement officials and heads of ministries. As INTERPOL's highest governing body, the General Assembly convenes annually and rotates its location worldwide. In 2024, it returned to the UK for the first time in over 40 years, with production agency Identity tasked with overseeing logistics and the SEC proudly selected as host.

The event welcomed over 1,000 in-person participants, including 65 Chiefs of Police and representatives from 179 member countries. A hybrid model allowed further engagement through online access to elements of the programme, extending global participation and inclusion.

This high-profile congress tackled major global crime trends including organised crime, cybercrime, counterterrorism, and fraud. The SEC was chosen not only for its world-class facilities but also its proven expertise in delivering complex, secure, and high-risk events, such as COP26. The event's delivery model involved deep collaboration across UK Government departments, the National Crime Agency, Police Scotland, INTERPOL, and local stakeholders.

The 2024 Assembly underscored Scotland's and the UK’s capabilities in international diplomacy and secure event delivery, reinforcing its global standing and leaving a legacy of innovation, resilience, and partnership.
