Team Structure and Strategic Direction
The team is structured to maximize efficiency and creativity, with roles ranging from event coordinators to strategic planners. This diverse structure allows for a dynamic approach ensuring that each event is meticulously planned and executed. The strategic direction in 2024 focused on innovation, sustainability, and community engagement, aligning with Aviva's broader corporate goals. In addition, we prioritised working with social enterprise suppliers to ensure that for each event we delivered we gave something back to the communities in which we live and work.
Using our skills for good
We used our volunteering hours collectively to organise a huge gala fundraiser that raised over £120,000 for charity. This event not only showcased our ability to deliver high-impact events but also highlighted our commitment to social responsibility. Employee engagement scores within the team increased as a result, driven by a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and recognition of individual contributions.
Innovations and Strategic Adjustments
As a regulated business, we have strong governance around the events we organise. We further developed our event platform to capture all reporting on this matter, streamlining complex processes and providing transparency on our operations
People
Despite 2024 being one of our busiest years to date, we have a strong commitment to learning and development within the team. 70% of the team benefit from mentoring, and several are mentors themselves. In addition, team members have been on courses ranging from Toastmasters to budget management and health & safety. We want to be the best in the industry!
