Convene 22 Bishopgate

Convene

Convene has delivered a state-of-art hospitality-infused suite of large meeting spaces in one of the City of London’s newest office developments, 22 Bishopsgate.

Five hybrid-enabled flexible auditorium rooms allow up to 700 people to be physically present, while technology built into the fabric of the rooms allows up to 10,000 people to attend virtually. Our rooms allow us to deliver a true-hybrid meeting experience. Everything that could be required for a range of events, from small gatherings to large town hall meetings, is in one place. The presence of integrated audio-visual equipment means there is no need to bring in bulky sound gear and cameras, which can take up a lot of room and be expensive to hire for such one-off occasions. The meeting spaces located on the third and fourth levels of the building, are awash with natural light, creating clear wellness benefits for attendees. The space features a responsive smart fresh air system to funnel fresh air into areas where there are more people, thanks to hi-tech carbon dioxide sensors installed in the rooms’ ceilings. Other modifications include installing a large feature staircase between two floors, the removal of the landlord’s suspended ceiling, and fitting a 2,000ft² kitchen with full catering facilities. The emphasis on hospitality has resulted in the hiring of 23 full-time staff to cater for clients’ needs, including four chefs, with the business’s head chef joining from the Ennismore Group, which operates the Hoxton Hotel. Responding to clients’ needs in a post-Covid environment is paramount. Working practices have changed, with varying numbers of staff working away from the office at different times. Mindful of the importance of retaining their corporate culture and ethos, clients can bring all their staff together in both a physical and virtual setting ‘under one roof’; a truly unique experience.
