Lauren O'Brien

Lauren is the Head of Events at Macfarlanes, a distinctive London-based law firm, focused on delivering excellence in the international legal market for corporate, commercial and private clients. Lauren has spent over 15 years in the Events and Hospitality industry, managing and producing over 2,000 events and leading teams of varying sizes.   She started working in the wedding sector before moving into B2B/ B2C event work for England Rugby and The Compass group at Twickenham Stadium and then to an event agency - First. Following this Lauren went to KPMG and managed the central events team, running and organising the key strategic events and programmes for the Firm, Chairman as well as Vice-Chair and Board.  In 2020, Lauren moved to Macfarlanes, where she heads up the events function, managing the team, sponsorships and all events activities. While Lauren worked in events before formally gaining a qualification in the field, Lauren went to the University of Brighton to gain a First class degree in International Event Management. She also holds an active PRINCE2 qualification and in 2021 Lauren was named one of the top corporate event planners in the UK as part of C&IT's A List.  Lauren feels fortunate to have travelled the world and run events all over the globe. She is an active member of the industry and feels passionate about events and their power in business relationships as well as building meaningful connections.
